Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar (born October 11, 1992), known professionally as Cardi B, is an American rapper and songwriter. Born and raised in New York City, she became an Internet celebrity by achieving popularity on Vine and Instagram. From 2015 to 2017, she appeared as a regular cast member on the VH1 reality television series Love & Hip Hop: New York, which depicted her pursuit of her music aspirations. She released two mixtapes—Gangsta Bitch Music, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, before signing with label Atlantic Records in early 2017. She proceeded to released her debut album, Invasion of Privacy. Cardi B is one of the most sucessful rappers of her generation, and is considered the "reigning queen of rap", and sometimes "queen of rap".
Relation with Megan Thee Stallion[]
Megan has cited herself as one of Cardi's friends, she met Cardi in November 2019, shortly after recording "WAP". They were later spotted shooting a music video for the song in July 2020. On August 6, 2020, about a month later, Cardi went live with Megan on YouTube. Cardi has also mentioned that she has Megan's phone number on her phone, also saying she often calls her. And in November 2020, they were spotted together at a Biden rally which ended up airing on CNN.
In 2023, Megan and Cardi collaborated again on "Bongos", the fourth single to Cardi's upcoming sophomore album.
